I-55 lane closures planned Tuesday

The right lane of Interstate 55 northbound at mile marker 4.1 and the right lane of I-55 northbound at mile marker 13.7 will be closed intermittently on Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. (weather permitting) while crews perform routine bridge maintenance. Several Blood Drives Planned in East Aurora Area

Local blood donors will have plenty of opportunities to give in late July and early August. Erie County Legislator John J. Mills has partnered with Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNYTS) to host a blood drive in East Aurora on July 30, Absolut Care of Aurora Park will host its drive on Aug. 5, and local churches will host blood drives for the same organization on Aug. 9 and 10. Power outage planned

Abandoned Garage Draws Renewed Complaints

The dilapidated garage at the corner of Riley Street and Fillmore Avenue has been slowly decaying for years. Bricks have fallen from the walls, the roof is in disrepair and the building has been a target for would-be graffiti artists. More than once the village had been forced to seal parts of the building and perform maintenance to keep the structure from presenting too much of a hazard. Turn lane planned for U.S. 80

1073rd Returns From Iraq

More than a hundred soldiers with the 1073rd Maintenance Company returned home to Greenville on Saturday. 130 soldiers with the 1073rd Maintenance Company based out of Greenville returned home today just before 12 p.m. They’ve been in Iraq for the past six months providing security and maintenance near Baghdad.
