A man was killed Thursday evening when he was struck by a CSX train near Elkridge, Howard County police said. Lt. Tim Black, a county police watch commander in Ellicott City, said the unidentified man was walking in the tracks about 8:45 p.m. outside Elkridge when he was struck by the westbound train believed to be heading for Cumberland.
